Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology (IIST) is recognized as an "Institute of National Importance" by the Government of India. It has also been recognized by UGC (the University Grant Commission).
It is the first institute in Asia to be solely devoted to Space Science and Technology education. IIST is also accredited by NBA (the National Board of Accreditation) and approved by AICTE (the All India Council for Technical Education).
