Ramakrishna Mission Sikshanamandira emerged as an Autonomous College of Teacher Education on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the University of Calcutta conferred the Status to this college in the year 2008. Autonomy in the Higher Education Sector means autonomy in terms of Academic and Administrative responsibility. Since the college is an Autonomous College it has furnished its own syllabi for the B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil and Post graduate Diploma courses and has reviewed from time to time. However, for the Ph.D course the college is to adopt the syllabus for the coursework and rules and regulations for the said course from the University of Calcutta.
