It was established in 2003 with a view to prepare graduate nurses who will personally and professionally be competent to provide holistic care to the individual, family and society in all the settings and will be the leaders of professional nursing. The college is recognized by INC & KNC. It is affiliated to KUHS.The institution has also minority status. The college is equipped with adequate facilities and modern equipments& an excellent library which will provide quality education to the students. Our parent hospital is a 300 bedded multispecialty hospital situated within the same campus.The college is recognized by Indian Nursing Council (NC) & Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council (KNMC). St. John’s College of Nursing is dedicated to create Nurses with flaming hands, hearts and heads which would illuminate the world with their creativity, to be the followers of a unique personality, St. John of God, whose rays of compassionate love extends even beyond 500 years and ignites many lives and removes the darkness of pain and suffering even now.The college was started by lighting a lamp on January 7th 2003 by Br. Forthunathus, who is the founder of St. John of God institutions in India. Fourteen batches have passed out from the institution till date. A well furnished college building of 65000sq. feet was inaugurated on 7th June 2014 by the then honourable chief minister Shri. Oomman Chandy. Initially the intake of the college was 50. Ten more seats were added to make it 60 in the year 2016. Initially the College was affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Our college also was brought under the Kerala University of Health Sciences, when it was established in the year 2010.
