VIT, Chennai campus – Application/Admission process

Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can apply online and offline modes, as described hereunder:

Offline application:

By submitting a demand draft for Rs.1,200/- candidates can obtain an application from the

VIT, Chennai/Bhopal/Amaravati Campuses.  Filled-in applications together with all relevant copies of certificates need to be submitted in the Office of any campus mentioned below:

Director, Undergraduate/Postgraduate (as applicable)

VIT University, VELLORE-632 014, Tamil Nadu.

Online application:

Candidates need to visit the official website, register themselves with their valid email ID and Mobile number, make payment of the requisite fee via Debit/Credit/Net banking modes, fill in all the relevant information in the columns of the application, upload all required documents, and passport size photo and submit the application.  Candidates need to take a printout of the acknowledgment for future reference.

Candidates seeking admission to Engineering Programmes need to appear in VIT EEE, for which they need to apply online by visiting the official website of VIT at vit.ac.  Such candidates are required to attend the VIT EEE on the appointed date, time, and venue at designated centers across India and Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, and Qatar.  Following are brief details of the VIT EEE:

• The duration of the test is 2.30 hours
• Common Test for all the Campuses
• All questions are of multiple-choice (MCQs)
• One mark shall be awarded for each right answer
• There will be a total of 125 questions divided as under:

• Mathematics/Biology (as applicable): 40 Questions
• Physics: 35 Questions        
• Chemistry: 35 Questions
• Aptitude: 10 Questions        
• English: 05 Questions

Admission Process:

• Candidates need to submit their application by visiting the official website at viteee.vit.ac.in, undergo verification of scrutiny of the credentials, to generate a link for slot booking for the test. Then candidates need to generate Admit Card. 

• On the appointed date, time and Venue, candidates need to appear in the VIT EEE. On the announcement of the results, all selected candidates need to attend online counseling. Candidates can exercise their option for the Campus (Vellore/Chennai/Bhopal/Amaravathi (AP).  Candidates securing ranks up to 1 lakh are eligible for counseling at Vellore and Chennai campuses. 

• Selection of the candidates is based on the rank secured through CBT (Computer Based Test) VIT EEE. Based on merit, candidates shall be issued with a provisional admission letter.

• On completion of the document verification, candidates need to confirm their admission by making payment of the tuition fee and completing pre-admission formalities, if any.
