Vellore institute of technology (VIT) Vellore is a private deemed-to-be university that was established in 1956 and recognized as an Institution of Eminence (IoE). Ranked by NAAC with A ++ Accreditation, VIT Vellore has a steady pattern of academic excellence, Ranking 11th in Engineering and 10th in the University category in NIRF 2024.

VIT Vellore Offers 66 Undergraduate, 58 Postgraduate and 15 Integrated programs. The flagship B.Tech is offered with multiple specializations in Computer Science, Biotechnology, as well as Electronics. VIT University Vellore also accepts special courses such as B.Des (Industrial Design), B.Arch, BBA and BCA besides engineering. Admissions to Core Engineering is primarily based on the VITEEE (VIT Engineering Entrance Examination), which brings in a merit-based intake. For non-engineering streams VIT Vellore considers the merit, or the score of the 12th-grade, of UCEED and NATA.

The Career Development Centre (CDC) of the university is in charge of the annual VIT University Placements drive that is known for its scale and diverse recruiters. In 2024- 25 academic sessions VIT Vellore's Highest Package recorded was Rs 1 Crore per Annum with over 900 top corporate recruiters taking part in the process. VIT Vellore persistently remains in its purpose of providing industry-relevant education supported by state of the art infrastructure.

it has been 8 months in vit for me and it is although a decent college but it doesnot stand upon the hype which is given to it. It literally feels like we are in school and not in college, warden comes for attendance every night at 9pm and if you are not present then he will put a fine upon you but the faculty and academic building and also hostels are pretty decent according to the hype but the only disadvantage is college is way too overcrowded and you will fell it at every point of time.
