Panjab University

 

Punjab University was first established in 1882 in Lahore, Pakistan. After independence, this university was re-established in Solan, India as Panjab University in the year 1947. Panjab University was relocated in Chandigarh in 1956 spread out in 550 acres of campus. The Panjab University Campus at Chandigarh accommodates seventy-three teaching and research departments/institutes/centres besides four independent Chairs for research. Furthermore, the university has 189 affiliated/constituent colleges spread over Punjab and Chandigarh besides Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and Kauni. The University offers diploma, graduate and postgraduate courses in faculties of Arts, Science, Languages, Law, Education, Design and Fine Arts, Business Management and Commerce, Engineering and Technology, Hotel Management and Tourism, Medical Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
