JEE ADVANCED 2017 JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is a national wide entrance exam conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in two tiers namely JEE Main and JEE Advanced. IIT institutions get their admissions for Under Graduate programs through JEE Advanced entrance exam. Paper-I of JEE Main 2017 entrance exam acts as eligibility test for JEE Advanced 2017. Students who intend to appear for JEE Advanced 2017, must take Paper-I of JEE Main 2017. JEE Main 2017 Online Applications started from 1st December 2016.  JEE Advanced 2017 Eligibility:

Candidates must check their eligibility before applying for JEE Advanced 2017.

a) Candidate should be in top 2,20,000(including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-I of JEE Main 2017.

b) Age: Date of birth of the candidate should be on or after October 01, 1992. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is October 01, 1987.

c) Maximum no. of attempts for JEE Advanced is only two times in consecutive years.

d) Candidates who have passed or appearing their Class XII Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015/2016/2017.

e) Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in Class XII/qualifying examination.

f) Candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT institution.

JEE Advanced 2017 Exam Pattern:

Paper-I & II: Compulsory for all

i) Duration: 3 Hours

ii) Mode of exam: both Pen & Paper based and Computer based

iii) Subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry

iv) No. of Sections: There are 3 sections for each subject.

v) Negative Marking: Marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

vi) Medium/Language of Question paper will be Hindi or English.

Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT): For Architecture students only.

i) Duration: 3 Hours

ii) Mode of exam: only Pen & Paper based

iii) Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing

iv) No. of Questions: There are 82 questions, a total of 390 marks.

v) Negative Marking: Marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

vi) Medium/Language of Question paper will be Hindi or English.

JEE Advanced 2017 Admit Card:

i) Candidates who successfully registered for JEE Advanced 2017 can download the admit card from registration portal from 10th May, 2017 to 21st May, 2017.

ii) Admit Card will have candidate details: Name, Roll number, photograph, and signature, date of birth, address for correspondence, category and language of the question paper. Along with Name and Address of examination centre allotted.

iii) In the case of any discrepancy in admit card or if admit card is not available for download, immediately contact the Chairman, JEE Advanced 2017 of the respective zonal coordinating IIT.

iv) A copy of the downloaded admit card should be produced at the time of examination. The original admit card will be issued to the candidate during the Paper 1 examination. This original admit card must be retained safely till all the formalities of admission are complete.

JEE Advanced 2017 Results & Score Card

i) Results will be declared on 11th June 2017 10:00 IST.

ii) Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after the results are declared.

iii) The text messages will be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.

iv) Individual rank cards will NOT be sent to candidates.

v)However, qualifying in JEE Advanced (2017), filling up choices and/or participating in the joint seat allocation process do not guarantee admission in IITs.

vi) Admission will depend on the availability of seats during various rounds of seat allocation.

JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling:

Seat allocation procedure is handled by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) based the rank and merit list. Candidates will be called for various rounds of counselling procedure tentatively on June 2017. Get more details on JEE Advanced 2017 Counselling Procedure and Seat Allocation.


1) Arch. Program is available at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee only.

2) Candidates desirous of joining the B. Arch. (Architecture) program will have to PASS in the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).

3) Only those candidates who have qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2017 are eligible to appear in AAT 2017.

4) Candidates must register online at the JEE (Advanced) 2017 online portal for AAT.

5) AAT will be conducted only at the seven zonal coordinating IITs.

6) The test will consist of one paper of three hours duration.

7) The question paper for AAT will be available only in English language.

8) No separate admit card will be issued for AAT. The original admit card of JEE Advanced 2017 should be produced in the AAT examination hall.

9) Candidates should bring their own drawing and colouring aids.

10) The Joint Implementation Committee of JEE Advanced 2017 will decide the cut-off marks for passing AAT.

11) Results of AAT will be declared on the JEE Advanced 2017 online portal.

12) There is no separate ranking in the AAT. There is no separate cut-off for students of any category.

13) Allotment of seat will be solely based on the category-wise All India Rank in the JEE (Advanced) 2017.

JEE Advanced 2017 Important Instructions:

1) Candidates must carry a printed copy of the downloaded admit card and their original photo identity card for the examination.

2) The candidate’s identity will be verified by invigilators and IIT representatives. If the identity of the candidate is in doubt, he/she may not be allowed to appear in the exam.

3) However, the authorities may permit the candidate to appear in the examination after completing certain formalities.

4) No extra time will be allowed for completing the examination because of the time taken for completing these formalities.

5)Impersonation in the examination is a serious offence and will lead to disqualification of the candidate from JEE Advanced 2017.

6) Only BLACK ball point pens, pencils, downloaded admit card and an original photo identity card are allowed to be taken inside the examination hall.

7) Candidates will NOT be allowed to carry any electronic devices like mobile phones, smart phones, calculators, iPod, iPad, tabs, digital watches etc, abacus, slide rule, log books, study material of any type, geometry box, written or blank paper, wallets, etc. to the examination hall.

8) Candidates should not wear items containing metals such as rings, bracelet, earrings, pendants or clothes with big buttons.

9) Candidates must report to the examination centres well in advance. Candidates arriving after commencement of the examination in each paper will not be allowed.

10) Candidates are required to be present in the examination hall for the entire duration of each paper. They CANNOT leave the examination hall before 12:00 IST for Paper 1 and before 17:00 IST for Paper 2.

11) Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are compulsory. Therefore, the ORS of ONLY those candidates who have appeared in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be evaluated/graded.

Note: B.Arch/Planning candidates are advised to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons.

Q7. During JEE Main 2017 Registration I have declared my category wrongly. Can I correct it during JEE Advanced Registration?

Ans. NO. Category declared during JEE Main 2017 Registration cannot be changed.

Q8. I have appeared in JEE Main Paper-II. Am I eligible for Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) without writing JEE Advanced 2017?

Ans. NO. Only the candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced 2017 are eligible for AAT 2017.

Q9. If I do not submit the OBC-NCL certificate by 5th June, can I submit it at the time of reporting?

Ans. NO. Since your declared result is based on the category. If you do not submit certificate by 5th June 2017 your result will be based on general category.

Q10. I have accepted a seat through JoSAA 2016. Am I eligible for JEE Advanced 2017?

Ans. If you have accepted seat in IITs then you are not eligible for JEE Advanced 2017.

Q11. I have taken admission in one of the IITs for preparatory course/NITs(2016). Am I eligible for JEE Advanced 2017.
