Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination for entry into management programmes. Till 2018, it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The Test will now be conducted by the NTA. The CMAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate's ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.

CMAT 2019 Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National wide entrance exam for admissions into MBA and PGDM level management courses of various management colleges in India. CMAT 2019 will be an online computer-based test (CBT) conducted on 28th January 2019. 


CMAT score is accepted by more than 2500 institutes and more than a lakh students appear for the examination every year.

CMAT 2019 Registration and Application Form:

Registration Fee: Non Refundable

General/OBC: Rs 1400/-

SC/ST/PwD category: Rs 700/-

  1. Candidates have to register with basic details.
  2. Once registered, candidate receives a 6 digit unique password.
  3. Login using e-mail id and password
  4. Pay the fee as prescribed through online/offline.
  5. Once payment is successful, complete the rest of the form and submit.
  6. Once submitted, changes in application are not entertained.

CMAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must check their eligibility before applying for CMAT 2019.

  1. Candidates who intend to appear for CMAT 2019 must be a citizen of India.
  2. Candidate must be a graduate (any discipline).
  3. Students who are in the final year of Graduation are eligible, provided that their results should be declared before commencement of admission for 2019-20 academic years.

CMAT 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: Computer-based test
  •  There are four sections.
  •  Duration of test is 180 minutes (3 hours).
  • Subjects: Quantitative Technique & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness
  • Each question carries 4 marks.
  • Negative Marking:1 mark is deducted for wrong answer.

CMAT 2019 Admit Card:

Candidates can download the CMAT 2019 admit cards from 2nd week of January 2019.  Admit card will be sent to the email id provided at the time of registration. The admit card will contain photo, name, and signature of the candidate, CMAT Roll Number, test date, time, reporting time at the venue, venue name, venue address, and instructions for the candidate. Candidate’s note that admit card is mandatory requirement to take the test.

CMAT 2019 Results

CMAT 2019 results are expected to release on 3rd week of February 2019. All the AICTE approved institutions/colleges/universities accept CMAT scores. The CMAT 2019 scores are valid only for admissions to academic year 2018-19. Candidate can download the score cards from official website.

CMAT 2019 Counselling Process

Based on the CMAT cut-off score, the candidates will be selected for further admission process. The candidates scoring equal to or more than CMAT cut-off 2019 are only shortlisted for the pre-admission procedures. Over 1000 institutes release their individual cut-off and follow their own selection process which includes Writing Ability Test, GD round then Personal Interview for selecting eligible candidates.

Colleges Accepting CMAT 2019 Score

CMAT 2019 General Instructions:

  1. Candidate must have basic familiarity with computers, keyboard and mouse operation. It is the responsibility of the candidate to acquire these skills before appearing in the test and the Institute cannot take responsibility for the same.
  2. Calculators and logarithmic tables are not allowed in the test centres. Candidates are not allowed to bring any other personal belongings such as mobiles.
  3. Blank sheets for rough work will be provided, if required.
  4. Anyone violating the rules of the test centre will not be allowed to continue with the test and will automatically be disqualified.
  5. The candidate must fully obey the rules of the test centres; otherwise he/she will be automatically debarred from the test.

Identification Documents required are,

1) Self Attested copy of CMAT 2019 Admit Card with recent passport size photo pasted on it.

2) At least one original and valid photo identification. Name on the CMAT Application must match with name on the photo identification.

3) Photo identifications accepted are Driver’s License, Passport, Pan Card, Voter Id, UID Card, notarized affidavit (in English) with photo, signature, date of birth, and residential address.

4) SC/ST candidates must bring the valid caste certificate in original and an attested photocopy.

5) Physically disabled candidates are required to bring the valid Disability Certificate in original and an attested photocopy.

6) Attestation can be done by Institute Head also.

Q1. Can I take the test from any computer?

Ans. NO.  Candidate will have to take the test on the pre-assigned computer at the test centre only.

Q2. Is there any age restriction for appearing in CMAT 2019?

Ans. NO. There is no age restriction for appearing in CMAT 2019.

Q3. How to pay my registration fee?

Ans. Candidates are required to pay the fee through online or challan/cash at any SBI branch.

Q4. Can I choose the test city?

Ans. Yes. Candidates can choose up to 3 test cities as their preference. However, actual allotment will be subject to availability of the slot in that particular city.

Q5. When will I get my admit card?

Ans. You can download and print the admit cards from 2nd week of  January 2019.

Q6. What is the identification documents required to be carried to the test centre?
