The BITSAT is known to be a highly competitive entrance exam which is a national-level exam. This particular exam is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. BITSAT is known to be gateway for those who are seeking admission in integrated programs which are offered to its students. There are two more branches under this institute along with BITS Pilani, located in Goa, and Hyderabad known for rigorous academic standards. BITS attracts thousands of aspirants each year who seek to pursue undergraduate courses in Engineering, Sciences, and Pharmacy.

The BITSAT exam is well-known for its high-level selection process and is a gateway to some of the nation’s top-rated academic institutions, known for their academic excellence, vibrant campus life, and strong placement records. It assesses a candidate’s potential in fields related to Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. The exam is designed to assess not just academic knowledge, but also analytical thinking and time management skills. This exam conducts exams in four sections with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning. There is a total of 130 MCQ based questions within the time duration of 3 hours.

BITSAT 2026 – Online Registration:

BITSAT is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. This exam is for those aspirants who are seeking admission to the following programs listed below.

  • 4-year full-time UG program in B.E. and B. Pharmacy, at various BITS campuses – Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad accepting BITSAT
  • 5 years of integrated program with M.Sc. Hons.

BITSAT 2026 Notification:

BITSAT 2026 Session I:

BITSAT 2026 online application submissions for Session I will begin from the 3rd week of January 2026. The last date for the submission of online applications is 4th week April 2026 for either Session I or both the sessions. However, the BITSAT 2026 will allow candidates to correct their application forms in the 1st week of May 2026, followed by city allotments, dates and slot reservations in the 2nd and 3rd week of May 2026 respectively.  BITSAT exam will be conducted in the 4th week of May 2026 for Session I.

BITSAT 2026 Session II:

BITSAT 2026 online application submissions for Session II will begin from the 1st week of June 2026. The authorities will allow candidates to correct their application forms in the 2nd week of June 2026, along with city allotments. The process for selecting dates and slot reservations will take place in the 3rd week of June 2026 respectively.  BITSAT exam for Session II will be conducted in the 4th week of June 2026 although the official dates are yet to be released by the authorities.

BITSAT 2026 Application Form:

  1. The application process conducted by BITSAT is done through online mode only.
  2. Candidates are required to visit the official BITSAT website to begin with the application process.
  3. Candidates are first required to register themselves before proceeding with the application process.
  4. After registration, candidates will be allowed to fill in the application form with accurate details of information regarding personal and academic details.
  5. Candidates will be given the option to select their preferred exam centres and program preferences.
  6. Payment of the application fee must be done through online mode using various payment methods – Credit Card, Debit Card, etc.
  7. Candidates are required to keep a print/Xerox of the application form for their future references.

BITSAT 2026 Application Process:

Requirements:

  1. Candidates must have a valid email id and phone number for ease of communication.
  2. Candidates will be required to provide their personal and academic details.
  3. Candidates need to upload their scanned images of a recent passport-size photograph and signature in JPEG/JPG format (size around 50 KB and signature size around 30 KB).

Steps to Apply for BITSAT 2026:

Online Mode:

  • Candidates are required to visit the official BITSAT website to access the online application form.
  • Candidates should review the eligibility criteria before starting the application process.
  • Candidates need to register by providing their personal details.
  • After successfully registering, candidates can proceed with the application form process.
  • Candidates need to upload scanned images of their passport-size photograph (in JPEG format, 50 KB) and signature (in JPEG format, 30 KB). Candidates can also select their preferred exam center and program.
  • Candidates can pay the application fee online using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, internet banking.
  • Candidates need to carefully review all the details entered and make corrections if necessary before final submission.
  • Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
  • Note that the application form must be submitted online as no offline submissions are accepted.
  • A correction window will be available for rectifying any errors in the submitted application within the specified period.

BITSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Year Undergraduate Program (B.E. and B. Pharmacy), and 5 Year Integrated Program (M. Sc. Hons.):
  • Candidates must have qualified the 12th standard examination (10+2 system) from a recognized Central or State board.
  • Only those who have qualified the 12th exam in 2025 or 2026 are eligible to appear for BITSAT 2026.
  • Candidates must have pursued Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their 12th standard. For B. Pharm, candidates may have Biology instead of Mathematics.
  • Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology for B. Pharm), with at least 60% marks in each of these subjects individually.
  • Adequate proficiency in English is required.
  • Only first attempt in 12th standard in 2025 or 2026 will be considered. Candidates who took improvement exams in all subjects after their first attempt will not be eligible.
  • First rank students in central and state boards are eligible for direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT
  • There is typically no specific age limit for BITSAT.
  • Candidates have an advantage of attempting BITSAT twice (one in Session 1 and another in Session 2) during the same admission cycle.

BITSAT 2026 Exam Pattern:

  1. The exam will be conducted in an online computer – based mode.
  2. The exam will consist of 130 questions based on objective, MCQ (Multiple-Choice-Questions).
  3. The exam will consist of four sections – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning.
  4. The duration for the exam will be of 3 hours.
  5. There will be a negative marking for any incorrect answers (-1) and 3 marks will be awarded for each correct answer. However, there will be no negative marking for unattempted answers.
  6. The syllabus and subjects vary according to the candidate’s chosen discipline (Engineering or Pharmacy) focusing on relevant core topics.

BITSAT 2026 Admit Card:

  1. Candidates will be provided with admit cards for the BITSAT 2026 exam during the 3rd week of May 2026 till exam date for Session I.
  2. For candidates appearing in BITSAT 2026 Session II, admit cards will be available to them in June 2026 till exam date.
  3. Admit card is mandatory without which no candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam.
  4. Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets/admit cards from the official website by providing their application number and password.

BITSAT 2026 Syllabus:

The BITSAT 2026 syllabus is based on the NCERT curriculum for Classes 11th and 12th, covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology for B. Pharm candidates), English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. No major changes have been reported in the syllabus in recent years. However, the official detailed syllabus will be released on the BITS Pilani admissions website by the authorities.

Scholarship Details:

BITS Pilani offers a wide range of scholarships for students admitted through BITSAT. The institute awards students with scholarships based on merit, merit-cum-need, and performance in qualifying or competitive examinations.

Following is the list of some of the scholarships that are offered to the students by BITSAT.

Merit-Based Scholarships:

  • Top 1% of BITSAT scorers receive a 100% tuition fee waiver.
  • Next top 2% receive a 40% tuition fee waiver.

Merit-Cum-Need Scholarships:

  • Top 3% (from financially challenged backgrounds) receive an 80% tuition fee waiver.
  • Next 6% receive a 40% waiver.
  • Next 12% receive a 25% waiver.
  • Next 6% receive a 15% waiver.

Qualifying Exam Scholarships:

  • 95% or above in 12th board: 40% first-year tuition waiver.
  • 90–94.99%: 25% waiver.
  • 80–89.99%: 15% waiver.
  • 70–79.99%: 10% waiver.
  • 70% or above: 25% hostel fee concession for four years.

Competitive Exam Scholarships:

  • For students admitted via AIEEE/JEE Main/IIT-JEE, scholarships range from 25% to 75% of first-year tuition fees, depending on exam scores.

Additional Schemes:

  • Board toppers are eligible for 100% (1st position), 75% (2nd), and 50% (3rd) tuition fee waivers for the first semester.
  • Hostel fee concession of 25% for BITSAT scores above 150.
  • Special scholarships are available for UAE nationals at the Dubai campus, covering full tuition, hostel, transportation, and books.

Golden 76 Scholarship Endowment Fund:

  • Merit-cum-need based: Requires high BITSAT score, CGPA ≥ 8.0, and family income below INR 12 LPA. Preference to female candidates if gender ratio is below 40%.

BITSAT 2026 Selection Process:

  • Eligible candidates must register online for the BITSAT counselling process after the publishing of the results by providing their exam details and verifying their scores.
  • Candidates need to list their preferred courses and campuses (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad) based on interest and eligibility.
  • Candidates can then submit an admission application form, including their Class 12 marks and course preferences.
  • BITS prepares a merit list based on BITSAT scores and qualifying exam marks. An iterative seat allotment process follows, where candidates may be allotted seats in successive rounds based on their rank and preferences.
  • Shortlisted candidates must be present with their original documents (Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates, BITSAT scorecard, counselling letter, ID proof, etc.) for verification. Final admission is granted upon successful verification and payment of fees.
  • First rankers from all central and state boards are eligible for direct admission, provided they meet minimum academic requirements.

BITSAT 2026 Instructions:

  1. Candidates should upload their photograph and signature with the preferred size in the portal which should be clearly visible.
  2. Candidates need to carry their admit card/hall ticket to the exam centre. Candidates will be prohibited from entering the exam hall without this document.
  3. Candidates will also be required to carry a valid ID proof such as – Voter ID Card/ Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Driving License, etc.
  4. It is advisable for all candidates to enter the designated exam hall before time for a smooth security process before the beginning of exam.
  5. Any candidate violating the rules will be strictly dealt as per the norms of the exam centre.
  6. Any candidate pursuing any unfair means in the exam hall will be dealt with as per the rules and regulations of the test centre.
