BITSAT 2017 BITSAT 2017 is entrance examination conducted by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani for the admissions into the Integrated First Degree Programmes at Pilani Campus, Goa Campus and Hyderabad Campus. BITSAT 2017 is the computer based online test BITS Admission Test 2017. Online application forms for BITSAT 2017 start from 29th December 2016.

BITSAT 2017 Eligibility:

Candidates must check their eligibility before applying for BITSAT 2017.

i) Candidates who passed/appearing the Class XII examination in 2016/2017are eligible.

ii) Candidates group in Class XII must be MPC/BiPC.

iii) Minimum Aggregate must be 75% in Class XII.

iv) Candidate must have 60% in relevant subjects in Class XII.

BITSAT 2017 Exam Pattern:

i) BITSAT is a Computer Based Online Test.

ii) Candidates have to answer the questions by using keyboard or mouse.

iii) Total duration of test is 3 Hours without any break.

iv) This online test have 150 question in all divided into FOUR parts

v) Questions given are all Objective Type

vi) Each question carries 3 marks.

vii) Negative Marking: For every wrong answer 1 mark is deducted.

BITSAT 2017 Exam Schedule:

i) BITSAT 2017 is held from 16th May 2017 to 30th May 2017

ii) There are two slots:

       a) Slot 1 – 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

       b) Slot 2 – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM

iii) A candidate can choose anyone out of these two slots based on the availability.

iv) The final list of the centres will be announced at BITS admission website after all the applications are received.

Each day the exam will be conducted in two slots. The first slot will be from 9.00am till 12.00noon and the second slot will be from 2.00pm till 5.00pm.

BITSAT 2017 Registration and Application Form:

1) Candidates have to register to fill the application form.

2) Visit BITSAT 2017 official website and fill the registration form.

3) Once registration is successfully completed candidate receives Application Number.

4) Login using Application Number to fill the application form.

5) Enter the personal and academic details.

6) Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature.

7) Pay the application fee as prescribed below.

BITSAT 2017 Syllabus:

BITSAT 2017 syllabus is based on the NCERT syllabus of Class XI & XII. It is comprised of subjects given below

a) Physics

b) Chemistry

c) Mathematics

d) English Proficiency

e) Logical Reasoning

BITSAT 2017 Admit Card:

i) Test centre allotments will be announced to the candidates on 15th March 2017

ii) Once test centre is allotted to candidate, he/she have to choose the test date and time.

iii) Candidates can download the admit card for BITSAT 2017 from 15th April, 2017 to 10th May, 2017.

iv) Admit Card will have candidate details: Name, Roll number, date of birth, etc.

ScoreCard:

i) Candidate can know his/her result after completing of the online test in terms of correct answers and wrong answers along with the score.

ii) Candidate can print his score card from the BITS official website after all tests are completed.

iii) Candidate will not be allowed to repeat the test in same year.

Merit List for admission:

i) Two separate merit lists prepared for admission.

       a) One for only B.Pharm.

       b) The other for remaining all the programmes.

ii) The cases of bracketing, if any, will be dealt with as described below.

       a) When the score of two candidates are the same, first their scores obtained in Mathematics/Biology (For B.Pharm) in BITSAT will be considered for separating them.

       b) If the tie still exists, then their scores in Physics in BITSAT will be considered for separating them.

       c) Further tie is eliminated using their scores in Chemistry.

       d) Finally, their PCM/PCB (For B.Pharm) total marks in 12th examination will be considered for their separation.

iii) A candidate who has appeared in BITSAT-2017 will be eligible for admission only if he/she gets the required minimum marks in the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects of 12th examination.

iv) Candidates who have appeared in BITSAT-2017 and are interested in admission will be required to submit Admission application with 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered, starting from 20th May 2017 till 30th June 2017

v) The details of this will be made available in the BITS admission website by 20th May 2017.

vi) Merit List is made only for the submitted applications.

Important Instructions:

1) Candidate must have basic familiarity with computers, keyboard and mouse operation. It is the responsibility of the candidate to acquire these skills before appearing in the test and the Institute cannot take responsibility for the same.

2) Candidates should bring a pen for the purpose of rough work, signing etc.

3) Blank sheets for rough work will be provided, if required.

4) Calculators and logarithmic tables are not allowed in the test centres. Candidates are not allowed to bring any other personal belongings such as mobiles.

5) All centres are closely monitored for security and candidates’ identity and activities will be recorded using web cameras and/or closed circuit TV cameras.

6) Candidate’s finger print and photograph will be taken at the time of the test and will be matched at the time of admission.

7) Anyone violating the rules of the test centre will not be allowed to continue with the test and will automatically be disqualified.

8) Candidates who are allotted test centres in Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad campuses of BITS may be given accommodation on nominal charges in hostels.

9) The candidate must fully obey the rules of the test centres; otherwise he/she will be automatically debarred from the test.

10) A candidate can apply online only once for BITSAT-2017. If candidate has done any mistake while filling the application form, he/she can edit the application from 7th March 2017 to 10th March 2017.

FAQ:

Q1. I am unable to access the online application. Can you send the application form by email or post?

Ans. The application cannot be sent by email/post.

Q2. I have completed the online application. But, I have not taken a printout. How can I get a printout now?

Ans. You can go to the applying online page again and enter the personal details AND the application number. You will be taken to the printout page again.

Q3. I have made a mistake while entering some data in my application form. How can I edit/correct it?

Ans. The link for editing the application form will be made available on the website during 7th March till 10th March 2017 and you can edit the required fields during this period.

Q4. My 12th exam results are not expected before 30th June. Should I apply for BITSAT-2017?

Ans. For admissions to I semester staring in August, you should have your result before 30th June.  Keeping that in mind, you may appear in BITSAT-2017.

Q5. I passed 12th in 2016. I didn't get 75% aggregate in PCM .Am I eligible if I repeat some of the subjects to get the required 75% marks?

Ans. If you are repeating 12th exam, you should do it for the all the subjects as required by the board to pass 12th again. If you take improvement exams in PCM/PCB only, you are not eligible.

Q6. What are the tuition and other fees and expenses?

Ans. The fee details for 2017-18 are yet to be finalized. The details will be available at BITS admission website by 20th May 2017.

Q7. I had appeared in BITSAT-2016 but my marks were below the cut-off marks. Can I appear in BITSAT-2017?

Ans. Yes. Subject to eligibility conditions you can apply again for BITSAT-2017.
