MAT 2025 Selection Process:

  • After the declaration of MAT 2025 results, the selection process for MBA and PGDM admissions at participating institutes begins respectively.
  • The AIMA sends each candidate’s MAT scores to the participating management institutes selected by them during the MAT application process.
  • Participating institutes review the MAT scores and shortlist candidates who have met or exceeded their independently set cut-off marks.
  • It is important to remember that each institute sets its own cut-off percentile or score criteria for shortlisting.
  • Shortlisted candidates are then invited by the respective colleges for further selection procedures. These rounds often include a Group Discussion (GD), a Personal Interview (PI), and sometimes a Written Ability Test (WAT). The mode (online or offline) and exact combination of these rounds varies by institute.
  • After the completion of GD/ WAT/ PI rounds, the participating institutes prepare a merit list based on candidates’ MAT scores and their performance in the selection rounds. Additional factors may include academic record, work experience, and category-based reservations, as per institute policies for selecting any candidate.
  • Successful candidates after clearing all the rounds are issued admission offers by the institutes. They must complete necessary formalities like document verification and fee payment to secure their seat.
  • Some colleges may offer direct admission based on MAT scores alone, without conducting further rounds. If a candidate is dissatisfied with their MAT result, they may reappear for the test in subsequent sessions within the same academic year for a better score.
