Chandigarh University ranks as India's #1 Private University for Three Years in a Row in QS Asia Rankings

As India’s representation in the global higher education landscape continues to grow, Chandigarh University once again emerged as a marker of sustainable institutional development by securing the #1 position among India’s private universities under the QS Asia Rankings 2026.

Along with the three-year streak at the top, Chandigarh University has also exhibited consistent growth in overall Asia rankings by securing #109 rank in Asia. Chandigarh University’s consistent top placement among private universities aligns with broader national trends of strengthening higher education quality and global competitiveness.

From being the youngest Asian university to breaking into QS Asia Rankings to retaining #1 position among private universities in India, CU's journey in the QS Asia rankings through the years reflects marked and significant upward movement in ratings:

2026: #109 in Asia; #1 among all private universities in India

2025: #120 in Asia; #1 among all private universities in India

2024: #149 in Asia; #1 in India for private universities

2023: #185 in Asia; #2 among all private universities in India

2022: Debut in Asian University rankings, ranking in the #271-280 range and among the top 7 private universities in India.
