Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board in any stream, such as science, commerce, arts, or mathematics.

Students must have passed their 12th grade with a minimum of 45–50% marks. Students must have studied Mathematics in class 12. Some institutions may give preference to students who studied Computer Science as well. Students from reserved categories like ST, SC, or OBC may be eligible for a 5% relaxation. Students must be at least 17 years old to enroll. Some universities may use entrance exams for admission. Some of the top entrance exams for BCA include CUET, IPUCET, SET, and AIMA UGAT. BCA is a three-year undergraduate degree course that exposes students to a wide range of career options, including computer programmer, system analyst, software tester, database manager, and network engineer.
