NIMCET 2026 SYLLABUS

The NIMCET 2026 syllabus is divided into four main sections: Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English. Each section is designed to evaluate specific skills necessary for success in the MCA program. Below is the detailed, subject-wise syllabus based on the latest available information:

  1. Mathematics
  • Set Theory: Concepts of sets, union, intersection, cardinality, elementary counting, permutations and combinations.
  • Algebra: Fundamental operations, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear/quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.
  • Coordinate Geometry: Cartesian coordinates, distance formula, equation of a line, intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of circle, parabola, ellipse, hyperbola.
  • Calculus: Limits, continuity, differentiation, tangents and normals, maxima and minima, integration (by parts, substitution, partial fractions), definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.
  • Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction, scalar and vector products, applications in geometry and mechanics.
  • Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions.
  • Probability and Statistics: Basic probability theory, averages, dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions
  1. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning
  • Questions based on logical situations and facts given in passages.
  • Topics include puzzles, data interpretation, pattern recognition, logical deduction, and analytical reasoning.
  1. Computer Awareness
  • Data Representation: Binary and hexadecimal representations, representation of characters, integers, and fractions.
  • Computer Basics: Central Processing Unit (CPU), input/output devices, memory and backup devices, organization of a computer, structure of instructions in CPU, basics of operating systems and computer architecture.
  1. General English
  • Comprehension: Reading passages and answering questions.
  • Vocabulary: Synonyms, antonyms, word meanings, idioms, and phrases.
  • Basic English Grammar: Sentence correction, usage, and structure
