JNU CEEB 2023: Offered by Jawaharlal Nehru University on behalf of the participating universities, CEEB is an entrance exam for admitting students in to the courses of M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Agri)/M.V.SC (Biotechnology) & M.Tech (Biotechnology). Each course has its own prospectus and therefore the candidates wishing to apply for than one course are advised to apply separately. CEEB entrance examination will be held in 52 cities. The CEEB exam is highly competitive as it is a National level entrance exam with large number of institutes across the country participating in this exam.

According to JNU CEEB Official Notification released by JNU, National Testing Agency (NTA) would be conducting JNU CEEB 2023 from 27th May 2023 to 30th May 2023.

JNU CEEB 2023 Application Form

Online Application Form

  1. Candidates have to open the JNU official web portal.
  2. Then, they have to log on as the JNU CEEB New Registration.
  3. Before proceeding towards registration for the entrance examination, students have to ensure that they have read and understood the eligibility criteria for their desired program.
  4. Students have to fill correct details in the application form such as their Name, Date of Birth, Address, Contact Number, Desired program for which they are applying, etc.
  5. Students have to upload their scanned photograph and signature. The file size of Photo and signature should not be more than 50 KB.
  6. Students have to upload their latest photograph and signature of about 20-50 KB, which should be clear and identifiable.
  7. Students should take the printout of confirmation page of either submission of the application form or of fees paid.

Offline Application Form

JNU Entrance Exam Offline Application Form 2023 will be available on the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University. Students have to fill the details in the form in their own handwriting.  Students have to fill the form in Capital Letters by using only black ink. Students have to send the application form through Registration Post or by Speed Post only. Students must have to keep one copy of application form for future use.

JNU CBEE 2023 Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for admission to the above-mentioned courses through CEEB are as follows:

M.Sc (Biotechnology)

Graduation from a recognized university or equivalent institute with at least 55% marks is the minimum requirement and the candidates from science, agriculture, medical, pharmacy, and engineering background.

M.Tech (Biotechnology)

Candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the desired stream as suggested by the university with an engineering or master’s degree.

M.Sc Agri / M.V.Sc (Biotechnology)

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in biology or in Agriculture, Diary, Veterinary Science, biotechnology, horticulture etc. with at least 55% marks from a recognized university or equivalent institute.

JNU CEEB 2023 Exam Pattern

  • There will be a Negative Marking in the final exam.
  • The exam will be divided into 2 sections i.e. Part -1 and Part -2.
  • Part – 1 of the exam will be based upon the syllabus of the 12th examination i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and will contain total 60 questions of 60 marks.
  • Part – 2 of the JNU CEEB Exam will be based upon the syllabus of the Graduation exam level i.e. Verbal and Reasoning ability, Comprehensive ability and it will contain a total of 180 questions of 2 hours.
  • There will be a Negative Marking of 0.25 marks in the part -1 exam and of 1 mark in the part-2 examination.

The question Paper for the Entrance Examination will be 3 hours duration consisting two Streams:

  • Technology Stream and
  • Life Science Stream

Part A: Basic Engineering and Technology (at under graduate level)

Part B: Physics / Chemistry / Maths (at Undergraduate level)

Part C: Fundamental Life Science and Informatics (at 10+2 Level)

Life Science Stream

Part A: Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Immunology) at Post Graduate Level

Part B: Physics /Chemistry (at undergraduate level)

Part C: Mathematics, Computer and Information Sciences (at 10+ 2 level)

JNU CBEE 2023 Counselling Process

The selection will depend strictly on the inter-se merit of the candidate in the entrance examination vis-à-vis preferences for joining the universities indicated by the candidate. After the merit list is drawn more than double the number of candidates than the total intake only will be informed of their merit rank in the entrance examination. The candidates will also be informed about the total number of seats in each participating university; the candidates will be asked to exercise their options for joining the universities in the proforma (which will be sent by JNU).

JNU CBEE 2023 Preparation

  • Study Plan: Firstly, students need to make a good study plan for preparation. For that, you must have knowledge about the syllabus and exam pattern. On the basis of your syllabus, design a proper timetable in a manner that you will get enough time for all the subjects
  • Prepare Notes: Try to make notes of the important topics as it will help you in last-minute study. Before going for the exam, you can revise these notes. Notes written in your own handwriting is easy to understand and revise.
  • Study Materials & Previous Year Question Papers: Due to the wide syllabus, students get confused about where they need to start preparation. This confusion may lead to stress. So try to find some useful books that contain previous years solved question papers.
