XAT exam – Final preparation Tips

XAT Exam – Final Preparation Tips

XAT –Xavier's Aptitude Test is India’s most attempted entrance exam for Post-graduate Management education after CAT. XAT exam is conducted on the first Sunday of January, every year by XLRI – Xaviour’s Labour Relation Institute. More than 150 prominent management institutes accept XAT scores for their intakes.

As the XAT exam 2024 is going to be held in less than 1 month of time, here are some useful final preparation tips for the XAT exam.

Regular Revision

  • XAT exam is conducted on the first Sunday of every January, which means the XAT 2024 exam taker has few days left for preparation. At this moment the candidate has to stop exploring new topics and concentrate on revising the topics which are covered till now.
  • Revising completed topics is the most recommended practice at this moment. Bringing in new topics which haven’t been touched yet creates hurry and confusion in the candidate.
  • Revising should cover all the learned and practised topics thoroughly.

A good amount of Mock tests

  • Mock tests are the best boosters to evaluate one's standard of preparedness.
  • Sectional mock tests and complete mock tests prepare a candidate for an online exam environment.
  • Accuracy with high speed can be achieved only with an ample number of mock tests.
  • Attempting a good number of mock tests is the most recommended final preparation tip for the XAT exam

More focus on difficult topics

  • Students from non-mathematics backgrounds should focus on higher mathematics concepts like trigonometry, probability, algebra, permutations and combinations etc., to give a good competition to students with a mathematics background.
  • General Knowledge is a scoring topic if the candidate is well prepared with current affairs and general awareness in the XAT exam. Reading a prominent daily newspaper and weekly or monthly magazines, followed by collecting important current affairs and vocabulary helps a candidate to gain in both - English vocabulary and general knowledge.
  • ‘Decision making’ is an exclusive topic of the XAT exam, which is meant to test the exam takers’ ability to problem-solve in a limited period of time. Decision-making questions are posed to examine how a candidate uses his ethics and morals in problem-solving and his understanding of the contemporary world and business affairs. Decision-making questions are given in both mathematics and reasoning topics.
  • As there is no essay writing task with this year's exam pattern, it gives candidates little more time to spend on other important topics.

Health is a key factor

  • Taking a healthy diet and doing minor workouts keep a person healthy enough to face any test easily.
  • Spending time with hobbies like music, solving puzzles, and meditation keeps one’s mind active, which helps the candidate to make quick and right choices in the examination.
  • Good amount of rest and ample sleeping hours is necessary for any student who prepares for competitive exams, which boosts and renews his energy for further preparation.
