All set for engineering counselling

Hyderabad: Officials made all arrangements fo rthe engineering counselling beginning July 28 for admission to engineering courses across the State.

Students can ecercise options till August 9 through web counselling when the server will be closed. However, the web options will reopen on August 10 for students to make necessary changes if they wish to..Allotments will be done based on their ranks on August 14.

Officials hope to start the class work from August 18.There are more than three lakh seats available this year in 700-odd colleges.

Worrying factor

However, candidates who have cleared their engineering tests is around 2.07 lakh. More than a lakh seats are likely to go vacant this year.

Another factor worrying the colleges is the migration of a large number of students from the state to the neighbouring states where theclass work has already begun. Colleges in and around Hyderabad were more worried as their fear of losing students to colleges in other parts of the State due to expected disturbance in the academic atmosphere with the Telangana parties and groups stepping up their agitation.
