Pegu has reiterated that the authorities will take appropriate action against the people who have spread the fake news.Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu has denied reports of paper leak for the HSLC board exams. Some reports online had stated that the paper for Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) board exams for Class 10 English exam has been leaked.Pegu has reiterated that the authorities will take appropriate action against the people who have spread the fake news.“The reports of HSLC examination question paper leak in Cachar District are fake. Authorities are currently probing the origins of this false news and will enforce legal measures accordingly,” Pegu posted in an official post on X.As per the official schedule, the Assam HSLC theory exams are being conducted between February 16 to March 4, 2024. The first shift exams will take place for most of the papers between 9 am and 12 pm, while a few paper exams will occur from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Assam HSLC exams for Bengali, Manipuri and Santhali are scheduled for Saturday, February 17.This year, the HS Exam will involve 2,80,216 students across 876 centers, Ranoj Pegu stated through his official X account.Last year, out of the 4,15,324 students who appeared in Class 10 exams, 3,01,880 students passed the exam. The board recorded an overall pass percentage of 72.69 per cent.
