AUCET results released

VISAKHAPATNAM: The results of Andhra University Common Entrance Test AUCET- 2011 for admission to post-graduate courses in campus colleges of Andhra University, Adikavi Nannaya University and Dr. B R Ambedkar University and in their affiliated colleges were declared here late Sunday evening. The results are placed on the website www.andhrauniversity.info/doa/index.html. Rank cards may also be downloaded.

Releasing the results, AU Vice-Chancellor Beela Satyanarayana said the university was the first in the State to release results within 12 hours of the last entrance examination.

Tests for two courses were held on Sunday morning. AUCET began on April 27.

For admission to 56 courses, 38 tests were conducted. Barring MFC that has an interview and B.Ed. (Special Education) held at Srikakulam, results for the other courses were released.

For M.P.Ed., marks were given but ranks would be allotted after considering special sports certificates, Prof. Satyanarayana said.

A total of 21,548 students appeared for the test of which 9,025 were women. There are about 13,000 PG seats available.

Counselling

The counselling for admission will begin on May 30 and the schedule will be placed on the website. Candidate that qualify in the instant or advanced supplementary examination to be held in May/June are also eligible for admission, the V-C said.

Toppers

Ramesh Pattipaka (history, 82.75 out of 90 marks), Jagannadham Tippanu (social work, 78.75) and V R Devisree Sale (biochemistry, 78) topped.

There was no cut-off mark for admission and the top score in marine living resources was 21.25, fine arts 28.25 and philosophy 32.25.

Registrar P.V.G.D. Prasada Reddy and Director (Admissions) O. Anil Kumar were present.
