While Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow is currently inviting applications for CAT 2023, there are several other options where students can apply, in order to get admission in management schools.

Common Admission Test (CAT)
The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow is currently conducting the registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023. Interested and eligible candidates can apply from tomorrow at the official website — iimcat.ac.in — till 5 pm of September 13.
As per the official calendar, the exam will be held on November 26 in three sessions. For this, the admit cards will be available for download from October 25.
CAT is a computer based test for admission in graduate management programmes. The exam is conducted by IIMs as a prerequisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs.
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)
The registrations for Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2024 has started and students have time till November 30 to apply at the official website — xatonline.in. According to the official schedule, the entrance examination is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, January 7, 2024.
As per the schedule, the XAT 2024 admit card will be available for download from December 20 onwards.
To qualify for the XAT, candidates must have earned a three-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. Additionally, students who will complete their final examinations by June 10, 2024, can also apply.
XAT Registration Fee is Rs 2,100. However, if you are applying for XLRI programmes, it will be Rs 200 per programme.
The XAT question paper consists of two-time bound parts, and the number of questions will be within a range of 100-105. Each section will typically contain between 22 to 30 questions. The total number of questions will not exceed 100, including those focused on General Knowledge.
Admissions to XLRI programmes are purely based on merit, as there is no management or NRI quota. Currently, the XAT score is being used by more than 160 institutes for the admission.
NMAT by GMAC 2023
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is currently conducting registrations for NMAT 2023. Candidates can apply at the official website — mba.com/exams/nmat — before October 10.
The NMAT by GMAC exam is used for admissions to graduate business programmes in several countries such as India, South Africa, Philippines, Nigeria, and Morocco. This is a computer adaptive test.
As per the officials, the number of institutions accepting the NMAT by GMAC exam has increased this year.
GMAT
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardised test that helps students get admission in some business schools, such as Stanford Graduate School of Business in America, London Business School in London, INSEAD in France, and more.
Unlike the CAT exam, which has a specific exam date and time, the GMAT exam can be given any day of the year as. Candidates simply need to register and select one of the exam slots, out of those available at the website. The registration fee is nearly Rs 21,000 for Indian students
Generally, it takes seven days for GMAC to make the score report of each student public. Although this can also exceed up to a maximum of 20 days.
MAT
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test which is conducted as a screening exam for admission to MBA and allied programmes. The exam is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA).
As per the schedule available at the official website — mat.aima.in — the registrations for the paper based test are open till August 29, for the September 3 exam. The admit cards for this exam will be made available on August 31. The last date for computer based test is September 12, and the admit cards will be made available on September 14 for the exam which is scheduled to be conducted on September 17. The result for both test modes will be released by the end of Septmeber.
