In an official notification on December 18, 2017, CBSE has confirmed about conducting AISSE and AISSCE exam for class 10 and 12 in March 2018. The date sheet for CBSE class 10 and 12 Board Examination 2018 is expected to be released by January 10, 2018.
As per the teacher who also handles the CBSE correspondence for a leading school in the city confirmed that March 1 is more likely to be the date for commencement of the board examinations.
Experts and teachers had been worrying about the Holi festival falling on March 2 and wondered if the Board Examinations would be preponed to start from February 26.
Two major concerns with the tentative date sheet for board exams:
No gap after Holi festival for the students to appear for their board
Large gap due to the upcoming legislative elections in two states next year
This year, the class 12 exams were held from March 9 to April 29, while class 10 exams were held from March 9 to April 10.
Further, a total of 10,88,891 students applied for class 12, out of which 6,28,865 were boys and 4,60,026 were girls, while over 16 lakh students appeared for class 10.
