NEW DELHI — The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 practical examinations, project evaluations, and internal assessments for the upcoming 2026–27 academic session. The latest circular specifically addresses winter-bound schools, which operate on a distinct academic timeline due to severe weather conditions during peak winter months.
According to the official circular issued by the Board, practical examinations for all CBSE-affiliated winter-bound schools are scheduled to be conducted from November 9, 2026, to December 19, 2026.
To ensure smooth operation and maintain evaluation transparency, CBSE has outlined mandatory operational protocols for school authorities:
Strict Upload Deadlines: Schools must complete all practical exams, project assessments, and internal evaluations within the specified deadline. Marks must be uploaded concurrently to the official CBSE portal. The Board clarified that once submitted, requests for marks modification will not be entertained under any circumstances.
Mandatory Photo Verification: Schools are required to upload batch-wise group photographs of students participating in the practical examinations through the designated app link provided by the Board.
Appointment of Examiners: External practical examiners and observers will be assigned via respective CBSE Regional Offices for designated subjects. Schools must verify subject-wise guidelines before finalizing internal schedules.
Answer Books: Subject-specific distribution guidelines regarding practical answer sheets have been attached in the annexures accompanying the official circular.
CBSE has emphasized that this specific timeframe is exclusively applicable to winter-bound schools to accommodate early closures due to heavy snowfall and extreme cold. For regular-session CBSE-affiliated institutions across India and abroad, practical examinations and internal evaluations are set to commence from January 1, 2027. A separate detailed date sheet and set of operational guidelines for regular-session schools will be released shortly on the official portal (cbse.gov.in).
Students enrolled in winter-bound schools are advised to contact their respective school authorities to obtain their individual laboratory and internal subject evaluation dates.
