CG PET 2016: Exam to be held in May

The Directorate of Technical Education Chhattisgarh will be conducting the Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test (CG PET) in the first week of May. The exam will be held for admission to the undergraduate professional engineering courses available at various engineering colleges and universities across the state of Chhattisgarh. The registrations for the same will begin in the month of March. Eligibility criteria Educational qualification: The candidate should have attained at least 45 per cent marks in the qualifying exam in which Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics should be mandatory subjects. For SC, ST and OBC candidates, their aggregate in the qualifying exam should not be less than 40 per cent. Candidate must have written the qualifying exam from a recognised institute. The age of the candidate must be a minimum of 17 years on or before December 31, 2016 and maximum 30 years on or before July 1, 2016. Also, the candidate must be a permanent resident of Chattisgarh. He/she should have a certificate proving it. Reservation of seats 12 per cent seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to schedule caste 32 per cent seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to schedule tribe 14 per cent seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy layer) 42 per cent seats are left for unreserved category. Paper pattern The duration of the exam will be of three hours. There will be a total of 150 questions, which will cover topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Negative marking will be done for wrong answers.
