Civil Services Boards to be set up in AP, Telengana

For the first time a Civil Services Board (CSB) would be set up in the state to make recommendations for all appointments of IPS cadre officers. A six-member board comprising chief secretary as chairman and DGP as one of the members would be set up.

For rule 7, all appointments of cadre officers shall be made on the recommendation of the Civil Services Board. All appointments to the cadre posts referred to in sub-rule (1) shall be made in the case of a state Cadre and a joint cadre by the state government concerned. Provided that the Central government or the state government may transfer a cadre officer for the purpose of filling leave vacancies or for making temporary arrangements for a period not exceeding three months, delegate its power of making appointments to cadre posts to Heads of Departments," according to an order issued by government.
