Dates of common entrance tests announced; Eamcet on May 17

Eamcet for admissions to engineering and medical colleges in the state will be held on May 17 next year. While the notification will be out on February 10, the results will be announced on June 2, according to the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

Among other common entrance tests, dates of which were released on Thursday, ICET for admission to MBA and MCA courses will be held on May 23 and its results will be announced on June 9. The notification for ICET will come out on February 14.

ECET for admissions to diploma course in engineering will be held on May 10 and its results will be out on May 19, officials said. Notification for the same will be out on February 4. EdCET for admissions to BEd colleges will be held on May 2 and the results will be revealed on June 23.

LawCET and PGLCET for admissions to law colleges in the state will be held on June 8 and results will be out on June 19. PGECET for post graduate diploma in engineering will be held from May 26 to 29 and results will be out on June 17. PECET for admissions to physical education courses will be held on May 5 and results will be announced one week after. Also, PolyCET for admissions to polytechnic colleges will be held on May 21 and results will be declared on June 5.

The announcements were made by Venugopal Reddy, chairman of APSCHE. "The dates of the examinations may be altered if any of the public holidays declared for 2014 general or assembly elections overlap with the schedule. This includes polling day and counting day. Alternate dates will be announced in such cases," he said.

Meanwhile, students of Telangana Vidyarthi Yojna raised slogans at the press conference venue demanding officials to take measures to prevent cheating in CETs.
