DSC Results Released

Andhra Pradesh: Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathi has said that the next District Selection Committee (DSC) test to fill 25,000 vacancies of teachers will be held in January-February.

About 4,000 physical education teachers (PETs) will be recruited by conducting the test, he said here on Sunday while releasing the marks of candidates who appeared for the written test for DSC – 2012. The results of the written test for recruitment of teachers into model schools were also announced on the occasion.

About 3.5 lakh candidates appeared for the DSC across the State from August 26 to 28 and another 95,000 candidates took the test for model schools in May. The marks of DSC carried a weightage of 80 per cent, while the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted earlier was allotted 20 per cent.

Merit list

The Minister said the district-wise merit list comprising the combined marks of DSC and TET will be sent to the Collectors shortly.

The rectification of errors in online applications for the test will be allowed till October 18. He said that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy had left instructions to complete recruitment of teachers within a month.

The breakup of 21,343 posts for DSC- 2012 is: school assistants – 6,007; secondary grade teachers – 12,772; language pandits – 2,144, PETs – 409 and special school teachers – 11.

Of the 7,100 posts in model schools, 355 are meant for recruitment of principals whose interviews were pending.

The remaining 6,745 posts comprise 4,615 post-graduate teachers and 2,130 trained graduate teachers.
