Eamcet counselling notification today

Putting an end to the long wait of 2.3 lakh candidates, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has decided to issue notification for Eamcet counselling for engineering on Tuesday following directions from the high court.

Speaking to newsmen here on Monday, APSCHE chairman Prof P Jayaprakash Rao said that the counselling process will commence from August 19 with verification of certificates at 53 centres across the state till August 30. Candidates can exercise their web options from August 22 till September 3.

They will be given a chance to change their options on September 4 after which no change will be allowed. The candidates should report at their respective colleges before September 9 and the classes are likely to begin on September 10 or 11. The APSCHE will issue the detailed schedule of Eamcet counselling in all leading newspapers on Tuesday, he said.

On the process of filling B Category seats in engineering colleges, the APSCHE chairman said that the managements should issue a notification about the management quota seats in all newspapers besides putting it on the college notice board and also in college website. Besides, he said the college managements should also send the application forms to Eamcet convener and to the APSCHE. These institutions will also post in their respective websites.

The candidates can download the application form from any of these sources and send it to the respective colleges through registered post by enclosing the requisite enclosures. The candidates can also apply online if the college management provides the facility to apply online.

The college managements after scrutinizing the applications should place the merit list of the selected candidates in its website and notice boards in the colleges besides sending all the applications forms for ratification to the APSCHE. If any candidates feel that he was denied admission though he is a merit student, they can approach the APSCHE.

The APSCHE will issue notice in all newspapers about the guidelines to fill the management quota seats on Tuesday besides posting the detailed guidelines of High Court on the APSCHE website which the college managements must follow.

Responding to a query, Jayaprakash Rao said that they will appeal to protesters not to disrupt the counselling process keeping in view the future of students.
