Eamcet First leg of counselling to take 15 days

HYDERABAD : The first phase of Eamcet engineering counselling will be concluded in 15 days. The government has decided to reduce the web-based counselling period by half to start classes for engineering first year students from August 1.

Earlier, the classes used to begin in November due to delayed counselling.

This often resulted in poor pass percentage in first year engineering exams, which stood at less than 20 per cent.

The department of technical education has installed additional servers this year to enable large number of students to give options on the web simultaneously on their choice of colleges and branches.

As per initial plans, the Eamcet officials plan to begin the counselling process by no later than July 15 and finish the entire process by July 31.

The classes for first year engineering students will begin from August 1.
