EAMCET: no online corrections, say officials

The EAMCET officials have decided not to allow corrections online though the students have to submit the form online to avoid mischief.

EAMCET-2012 Convenor N.V. Ramana Rao told The Hindu that students can, however, make corrections by sending an email to the convenor or by calling up the helpline centres at the Convenor's office or personally visiting the EAMCET Convenor's office or any regional centre. “If students call up their identification will be verified and corrections made. We are avoiding online corrections to cut out mischief,” he said.

Prof. Rao said officials will be able to identify impersonation efforts or wilfully entering wrong data and photographs as they will be comparing the applications with the Intermediate as well as 10{+t}{+h}class data of candidates that is already available with them. Students with any intention of indulging in malpractice have to think twice now.

The EAMCET officials have also entered into an agreement with eSeva centres, APOnline and Mee Seva to help students fill the form. There are about 2,000 APOnline franchises in the State, particularly in the rural area and this will help candidates from villages. The centres will be allowed to charge Rs.10 for filling the form as they do with other services of the government. Candidates can also take a printout of the application form as proof of submission.

Free of cost

Prof. Rao said engineering colleges in rural areas have also agreed to help students fill the forms at their respective centres free of cost. He said candidates will be allowed to print hall-tickets from the web till the last date of the examination and they need not be worried about postal delays.

The EAMCET notification will be issued on February 10 and students can start submission of forms from February 12.
