VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Transport Botcha Satyanarayana has informed students agitating for fee reimbursement that it would take a few more days. Speaking to SFI leaders who called on him at his residence here on Friday, the Minister said the managements must have patience for at least one or two months. When brought to his notice that the college management was collecting Rs. 3,000 towards hostel fee, threatening to close down hostel and prevent those who fail to remit fee from appearing practical examinations, Mr. Satyanarayana assured them that he would arrange a review meeting of district officials and the college management for a solution. He asked SFI leaders to fight against some 2,000 colleges in the state are inflating enrollments for the sake of fee/scholarship reimbursement. On their demand for special medical attention for D. Janardhana, second intermediate student, who attempted suicide by consuming pesticide and admitted to K.G. Hospital in Visakhapatnam for treatment, the Minister telephoned the hospital authorities immediately and instructed them accordingly.Later, A. Jagan Mohan, district SFI secretary, demanded that the government initiate action against the college management for demanding fee.
