First batch of IIITians gets offers from Infosys

Students of the first batch of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, APIIIT, Nuzvid, will come out with flying colours from the campus in the next few months.

A campus interview was conducted by Infosys wherein the company gauged their potential on different parameters as required by the industry.

There was a buzz on the campus on the recruitment of 64 students by Infosys. The result of the campus interviews was declared a couple of days ago and the company offered a salary package of Rs.10 lakh to some of the selected students.

While the ITC is yet to announce the written examination's results and conduct interview, the Nuzvid campus opened the account with selections made by the Infosys.

Giving this information, APIIT Nuzvid Director Ibrahim Khan said that the students worked hard towards a goal and won. A total of 800 students appeared for the examination conducted by Infosys. Of them, 102 were selected for interview.

After the personal interviews, 64 students were given offer letters. As many as 29 girls were selected by the company.

More companies like TCS, ITC, Amara Raja Batteries, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Udyog Limited, and Coromandel Paints have informed that they would conduct campus interviews. They were looking for students with CS, ECE, chemistry and other backgrounds, he said.

Infosys selected the students who secured more than 70 per cent in academics and studied CS or ECE.

"Our aim has been to impart quality training. In this backdrop, selection of our students would give an impetus to the institute," he said.

The students are seen in full vigour and zest after the Infosys gave offer letters to the successful ones. Many more students are hopeful that lady luck would smile on them at the coming campus interviews.

As many as 2,000 students were admitted to various courses offered at the IIIT Nuzvid in 2008.

The number of seats was later brought down to 1,000. Currently, 8,000 students, including first batch, are studying at the campus.
