GATE 2018: Make changes in exam city by following these 5 simple steps at gate.iitg.ac.in

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organising institute body of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2018) has released an official notification regarding change in examination city on the website, gate.iitg.ac.in

Examination City Change: Candidates who wish to change the choices of examination city given in GATE 2018 application can do this by logging into GOAPS during 13-17 November, 2017. Applicant must pay Rs 400 for this change."

How to make changes in GATE 2018 exam city:

  • Go to the Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), appsgate.iitg.ac.in
  • Enter your Enrollment Number / Email Address and Password in the space provided
  • Enter the captche code
  • Click to log in
  • Make all the necessary changes and click to submit

Note: Applicants, who have not verified the email address and mobile number during submission of GATE application, are advised to verify the email and mobile number at the earliest by logging into the GOAPS portal.

The GATE 2018 will be held on February 3, February 4, and February 10, February 11, 2018

Why is GATE conducted?

The GATE exam is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to:

(i) Master's programmes and direct Doctoral programmes in Engineering/Technology/Architecture

(ii) Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science, in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other government agencies

Certain colleges and institutions, which admit students without MHRDscholarship/assistantship, consider the GATE qualification mandatory.

Further, many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using the GATE score in their recruitment process.

Last date for request for change in the choice of examination city via GOAPS login: November 17

Availability of admit card on the online application interface for printing: January 5

GATE 2018 online examination dates: February 3, February 4 and February 10, February 11, 2018
