The Telangana Government on Tuesday constituted a Committee to review the curriculum of technical education, intermediate education and universities in the state in order to bring new courses of modify existing ones on gender sanitization, human values etc.In a GO issued on Tuesday, the government appointed Shailaja Ramiyar as the chairman of the committee. One representative each from every university, Commissioner of technical education and collegiate education will be members of this committee, the GO said.While referring to the Saksham report 2013),the committee on issues relating to safety and security of women and girls in the Telangana State recommended that an indicative course module on gender sensitization and laws and rights be suitably modified and used as per the training requirements.The Committee further recommended compulsory inclusion of child sex abuse prevention, gender inequalities and social/human values in the appropriate content and pedagogy. It also recommended that the curriculum include some of the major laws related to women.
