Girls outnumber boys in EdCET-2014

Girls outnumbered boys in applying for EdCET-2014. The test will be conducted by Andhra University (AU) on May 30th from 11 am to 1 pm in 349 test centres covering 42 cities across the State.

EdCET-14 Convener, Prof. Nimma Venkata Rao said here on Sunday that in the total receipt of 1, 65,781 valid applications 97,139 are from girls and 68,642 from boys. While the Osmania University (OU) region has topped the number of candidates appearing for the test with 1, 11,742 followed by AU region with 31,638 candidates and Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) region with 22,401 candidates.

He said that the orientation programme for regional coordinators and city coordinators will be held on Monday to discuss about fair, smooth and peaceful conduct of the entrance test. Candidates can download hall tickets from EdCET website www.apedcet.org from May 19th. He appealed to aspirants to reach respective test centres well before the scheduled time of the test to avoid last minute rush.
