Govt puts off NEET by another year

Even as the Supreme Court is yet to decide on holding a pan-India single entrance test for admission to MBBS courses, the Centre has decided to postpone the test by another year following protests. In view of this, CBSE has decided to carry on with its all India pre-medical, pre-dental entrance examination (AIPMT) for filling only 15% quota seats as per the existing pattern. CBSE will hold the AIPMT prelims on April 1, 2012 and final examination on May 13, 2012. CBSE had earlier announced the conduct of the all India National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS courses across the country on May 13, 2012. PTI
