Guntur girl, Krishna boy bag GSLV awards

Megha Goyal of Guntur district stood first and Yashwanth of Krishna district stood second by bagging GSLV awards, conducted by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on the occasion of the celebrations of World Space Week. The awards were given away by the senior scientist R V Perumal at the Kurup auditorium here in the district on Friday. He played a key role in designing the GSLV rocket.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Perumal said that students should realize that the ISRO was an outstanding institution conducting studies in space research which could launch rockets into space. He said that there was no end to acquiring knowledge.

The ISRO SHAR conducted the quiz and essay writing competitions at three levels for the tenth class students following the CBSE and SSC pattern of syllabus. Meghna Goyal expressed her happiness for winning the award and said that her visit to ISRO SHAR at Sullurpet was a memorable experience.
