Gurukulam merged with Ambedkar University

SRIKAKULAM: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University promised to launch job-oriented short-term diploma courses for the benefit of rural youth as it was the motto of the 21st century Gurukulams launched during the regime of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

The Gurukulam located near S.M. Puram was handed over to the university, as the government issued orders to merge all the nine Gurukulams with universities located nearby. 21st Century Gurukulams' in-charge S.D.A. Sudhakar handed over the documents to university Registrar V. Krishna Mohan in the presence of Vice-Chancellor S.V. Sudhakar.

The university is expected to launch new courses in subjects like information technology, IT-enabled services, catering technology, and tourism. Mr. Sudhakar said that the very purpose of the 21st Century Gurukulam would not be defeated as the university chalked out an action plan for better utilisation of the existing campus in S.M. Puram.

The university will conduct a job fair on May 1 on its campus. As many as 32 companies are expected to participate in the recruitment process.
