Hiring in hospitality, aviation sectors to go up by 40 per cent

Mumbai: Due to the improving economy and investment in Indian carriers and hotels by global companies, the aviation and hospitality sectors will witness a substantial increase in hiring in 2015, according to experts.

It is likely to go up by 40 per cent, they say. Sunil Goel, managing director, Global Hunt, an executive search firm, recently told 2015 would be a high-hiring year and sectors like hospitality and aviation would boom and hiring in these sectors might increase by 30-40 per cent, compared to last year. Echoing a similar view, Kamal Karanth, managing director, Kelly Services India and Malaysia, said many global hotel chains had invested in India in the past few years opening up large job markets.

He said that in 2015, the sector alone would create 60,000-80,000 jobs, and similarly, the aviation sector was expected to create 3.5 lakh jobs in the next 10 years, he said. Pankaj Bansal, chief executive officer and co-founder, People Strong HR Services, said there was likely to be an increase of about 20-25 per cent in hiring intent compared to last year.
