Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is soon going to set up the Asia's biggest centre for audio and visual training in Mumbai's Film City. The project is in association with The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
According to the reports a budget of 200 crore has been fixed for the project. The institute will reportedly be named National Centre for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics.
IIMC's Director General KG Suresh said that the project will be operational within two years. He also stated that nearly 1,600 trained professionals will enter the workforce annually and various IIMC campuses will now work as regional centres. Jammu will be the centre for north India while Kottayam, Dhenkanal, Amravati and Aizwal will be the centres in south, east, west and north-east respectively.
This year, there are 12 alumni meets scheduled by Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) beginning in Delhi from February 19, 2017 and culminating on April 23, 2017 in Kolkata.
