IIT-K to be urged to review questions

Hyderabad: Questions in Physics and Chemistry sections of IIT-JEE were ambiguous this year,feel experts.Numerical integers section and organic chemistry (mechanical ) had ambiguous questions, they said.
According to Alok Kumar,senior faculty at Narayana group of institutions,and an IIT-Kanpur alumnnus,the students and faculty from IIT coaching institutes in the state would be writing to IIT-K management asking them to review the questions.
IIT officials should not allow students fate to hang in balance.They should make up pend on how students fared in the Physics question paper, said Uma Shankar,IIT-JEE coordinator,Chaitanya Group of Institutions.

Interestingly,initiating a student-friendly measure,IITKanpur had promised to put up their answer key online after the exam so that the errors (if any) would not go unattended.But according to the latest intimation,the key will be out only after May 25,the date of IIT results announcement and hence students who have complaints will not be able to pinpoint the mistakes before their results are published.

AP accounts for 21 per cent of a total of 4.8 lakh students appearing for IIT-JEE.for the mistakes by granting marks, said Kumar.
However,in spite of errors,JEE experts said that Maths and Chemistry sections were much easier as compared to 2010.Only Physics section was tough for many students who found solving some problems a time-consuming exercise.
