Indian School of Business (ISB) to double its scholarship amount

The Indian School of Business (ISB) will double its scholarships from Rs. 4 crore to Rs. 8 crore for the incoming batch of 2013, a press release said here on Tuesday. Through this increased outlay, one in seven students will receive scholarships covering 25 per cent to 50 per cent of tuition fee. Selection for scholarships, to be awarded on both merit-cum-need basis, will be based on candidates' academic and professional performance besides personal qualities such as leadership, integrity and community service. “We are confident that our efforts will continue to reap results in terms of attracting the best talent as well as strengthening the brand ISB,” said Deepak Chandra, Deputy Dean.

Students aspiring to start their own ventures will also get support through the ‘Develop India' scholarship, offered to support aspiring entrepreneurs whose ideas are being incubated under the Entrepreneurs Development Initiative (EDI) at the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (WCED) of the ISB. The scholarships cover students' loan EMI amount up to a period of two years. Organisations such as Citi Foundation, Novartis, Talentia and Casa Asia also provide merit and need-based scholarships. The Novartis scholarship is specifically offered to encourage women students from small towns.
