Intermediate II Advanced score will be taken for EAMCET

Hyderabad: Students planning to appear for the Intermediate II advanced supplementary exams could land in a spot of bother for Eamcet if they don?t improve on their scores released on 27th April.
Board of Intermediate Education officials said that scores in the advanced supplementary, even if lower, will be considered as the final marks for Eamcet weightage. For the JEE Main and Advanced, however, the results announced on Monday will be considered as final and the marks obtained in the advanced supplementary exams will not be of use.

The Intermediate II advanced supplementary exams in Telangana will be held from May 25 to June 1. This is in contrast to the Inter I advanced supplementary exams wherein the best of two is taken. If Inter II students want to improve on their marks for the JEE Main and Advanced, the advanced supplementary is of no use. If it is for Eamcet, students can appear for the exams but will lose out if they score less than in the main exam.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari asked BIE officials why such a system was being adopted for Inter II students. Officials replied that the advanced supplementary marks are not considered by the CBSE for the JEE for normalization and percentile cutoff. ?Since we conduct Eamcet, we can use these marks. But whatever students score in the advanced supplementary will be final. There is no best of two,? a TSBIE official said. Mr Srihari said the system could be reviewed to provide the best of two option.
