The institute became an IIT under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011. It offers programmes at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. It offers BTech in civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, data science and engineering, engineering physics, general engineering, materials science and engineering, microelectronics and VLSI, mathematics and computing and BS in Chemical Sciences.
IIT Mandi also offers a BTech-MTech integrated dual degree programme in bio-engineering.
