JEE Advanced 2024: IIT Jammu has bagged a spot for the first time in NIRF rankings 2023 in the engineering category. The institute was inaugurated in 2016.
JEE Advanced 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu is one of the 23 IITs in India and was established in 2016. The institute has been placed within the top 100 in the engineering category in the Ministry of Education’s National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2023.
In the engineering category, IIT Jammu is placed in the 67th rank in NIRF 2023. This is the first time IIT Jammu bagged a spot in the NIRF engineering rankings.
IIT Jammu did not make it to the list of Times Higher Education (THE) rankings in 2024 and in the QS World University Rankings 2024.
IIT Jammu did not get a rank in NIRF research or overall categories over the past five years.

IIT Jammu ranks 67th in the engineering category of NIRF 2023 rankings by scoring 74.62 in teaching, learning and resources (TRL) out of 100, 21.51 in research and professional practice (RPC) out of 100, 57.32 in graduation outcomes (GO), 56.55 in outreach and inclusivity (OI) and 22.01 in perception out of 100.
The academic programme in IIT Jammu was launched in 2016 by admitting students in the BTech programme in the fields of civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
