JEE-Main online application process begins from November

The aspirants of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Main can fill the online application form till December 26. Earlier, this date was December 16. The online application process would start from November 15.

The JEE Main (offline mode) would be held on April 6, 2014 across the country. It would be held in two shifts from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.

The candidates have to apply online through JEE (Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had issued guidelines for filling the form.

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-2014 would be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission for undergraduate engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, state government institutions and others.

The admission for undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, institutions under several participating state governments and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the JEE (Main).

According to JEE Main website, the eligibility criteria for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) are different. The aspirants should read the information bulletin carefully and to ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main) as well as JEE (Advanced).

In order to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the JEE (Main) secretariat has designated Facilitation Centres across the country to help the candidates in filling online application without any charge.

The list of such institutes has been made available on the JEE (Main) website.

JEE (Main) - 2014 shall have two papers, Paper-1, (BE/B.Tech.) and Paper-2 (B.Arch./B.Planning). Depending upon the course(s) candidates are seeking admission may take Paper-1 (BE/B.Tech.), or Paper-2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) or both.

In B.E./B.Tech paper, objective type questions with equal weightage on physics, chemistry and mathematics would be asked. Objective type questions will be asked in second paper as well.

The first paper of JEE Main will also be held online (Computer Based Examination). For this, four dates have been finalized as April 9, 11, 12 and 19.
