JNU Entrance Exam 2018-19 All you need to know

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is all set to conduct the entrance examination from December 27 to December 30.

Meanwhile, the registration process for the same begins today, September 15 on the official website, the link for which is jnu.ac.in.

Further, candidates can check the complete schedule for Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE) 2018-19 on the official website.

Here's what the Registrar, JNU said:

"Part-time programmes (diploma and certificate courses) will have 240 seats open," according to the statement, signed by the Registrar.

The prestigious university is offering 720 seats for MPhil/PhD courses, 459 for BA programmes and 1,118 seats for MA, MSc, MTech and MPH courses. The administration in May had announced that the entrance exams for all courses would be shifted from the usual period between May and June to December, starting this year.

The entrance examination will be held in 53 cities in the country and also in Kathmandu (Nepal).

Important dates:

Online application submission process: September 15

Last date to apply: October 13

Examination dates: December 27 to December 30

Moreover, reduced MPhil and PhD seats have been the cause of wrath between students and teachers on one hand and administration on the other.

The JNU Teachers Association (JNUTA) has also raised objection about the short notice and has put forward their demand for more time to discuss the move.

The administration's decision to replace Gender Sensitive Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH) with an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has also drawn objections from JNUSU and JNUTA.

The decision of changing the entrance exam schedule came two years after it was put forward at a meeting of the varsity's Academic Council (AC) and approved at a Standing Committee meeting.
