KLU signs pact with Romanian university

VIJAYAWADA: The Koneru Lakshmaiah University located at Vaddeswaram near here has signed an agreement with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca – Romania for collaboration in research and academics.

KLU Chancellor Koneru Satyanarayana signed the agreement with Ion Voicu Sucala, professor in management and systems, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca at a programme held on the university premises on Thursday.

Mr. Satyanarayana said that the MoU will facilitate sharing of resources and exchange of students and faculty. The students of KLU will have the opportunity of studying in the Technical University.

They would be able to study two years of the total four years of engineering in KLU and the remaining two years in Technical University, which would fetch the students the degrees of both the universities. The KLU was entering into agreements with various foreign universities to widen the opportunities for academics and research for its students, he said.

Prof. Sukala said that the Technical University was keen on popularising engineering courses in Romania, and the MoU with the KLU was a step in that direction.

KLU Vice-Chancellor G.L. Datta was present.
