MBA,MCA counselling may get delayed

Hyderabad: Counselling for admissions into MBA and MCA courses in the state is likely to be delayed with the officials adopting "wait and see" policy in announcing the schedule in view of the proposed strike of the employees and uncertain situation in the state.

A meeting of the APSCHE officials held on Tuesday decided not to finalise the dates due to the prevailing situation in the state. "Though we are ready with all the arrangements we would like to assess the situation after a few days and then decide on the schedule," APSCHE Chairman P.Jayaprakash Rao said. Originally officials had planned to start the counselling from August 18 onwards though official decision was not taken.

Officials in the meeting apparently expressed apprehensions over the smooth conduct of the counselling in view of the proposed employees strike from August 17. They argued that disturbance even in any on eof the helpline centres or absence of emplyees will affect the schedule. moreover, students wouls also be put to inconvenience, they felt.

Meanwhile, Prof.Jayaprakash Rao ruled out thefears that admissions may be delayed and classes might get affected recalling that last year counselling was held in september.

"We can complete the entire counselling in less than 8 days as only 1.3 lakh candidates qualified in ICET," he said.
