Minister Promises Five Lakh IT Jobs in Next 5 Years in AP

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has written letters to about 100 IT companies in India and abroad inviting them to invest in the state for developing IT hubs in all the 13 districts. Several companies have already evinced interest in setting up their campuses in Visakhapatnam, which will soon have an IT Investment Region (ITIR), information technology minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy has said.

The CM will inaugurate the IT Incubation Centre at Rushikonda IT Special Economic Zone in the city during his visit on September 29. He will also launch a start-up village for IT companies apart from participating in a key conference on IT sector with experts from across India and abroad, the minister told media men here 21st September.

Raghunatha Reddy assured that the state government will provide five lakh jobs in IT sector in the next five years as the new IT policy and industrial policy will attract the major companies from India and abroad. The government will also unveil its single window system soon for speedy issuance of necessary permissions to enable these companies to open their units at the earliest, he added.

Participating in a review meeting with the district officials earlier, the minister, who also holds the portfolios of minority welfare and, information and public relations departments, said that the government was keen on upliftment of the minorities and protection of their properties. Apart from taking up repairs at 7,500 mosques, it would take action against land grabbers who occupied about 24,000 acres belonging to the minorities. For identifying and reclaiming the occupied Wakf and other government lands, a committee will be established under the leadership of the joint collector which will prepare a report for necessary action, he said.
