More IITs, NITs Soon - Pallam Raju

The Centre is planning to set up more National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Union HRD minister M.M. Pallam Raju said here. The minister was here on Sunday to offer puja at the famous Bhavannarayana Swamy Temple at Sarpavaram. He also visited the rain hit areas of Thimmapuram, Panduru and other places in Kakinada rural mandal. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the emphasis would be on vocational education.
Mr Raju said that primary education would be strengthened through the Rajiv Vidya Mission and an eye would be kept on teachers? teaching abilities. He said that teachers would be given training to develop their academic skills.
