NEET PG 2024 exam on July 7; cut-off date set at August 15

NEET PG 2024: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) today announced the exam schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. Medical aspirants can now check the detailed schedule at the official website — nbe.edu.in, natboard.edu.in.

According to the schedule released today, the NEET PG 2024 exam will be conducted on July 7, 2024. The cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the NEET PG 2024 will be August 15, 2024.

“In supersession of NBEMS notice dated 09.11.2023 and under the receipt of NMC letter No. N-P018(20)/7/2023-PGMEB-NMC/000587 dated 03.01.2024, the conduct of the NEET-PG 2024 examination which was earlier notified to be tentatively held on 3rd March 2024 stands rescheduled,” the official notice stated.

Meanwhile, NeXT (National exit test), a national-level medical exam, will be delayed by a year and will be tentatively launched in 2025. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to begin in 2023. As per the new regulations which have replaced the Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2018, the existing NEET PG exam will continue till the NExT becomes operational for PG admissions.

The NMC has also introduced the “Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023,” mandating that all rounds of counselling for every seat will be conducted through online mode by state or central counselling authorities.

Recently, NMC has also introduced post-doctoral fellowship courses in medical colleges regulated by it to promote research and clinical skill development.
